ive received my FIRST Growth Dividends/GST Offset letter!!

at first i didnt noe there was this GST offset thing and thought it was only for the poor. woohoo! granted, the sum is paltry and a little more than 2 weeks of my pocket money but its still $$$!
its kinda funny to receive it because when the first progress package/growth dividends/workfare bonus came out, i was working at CPF and was stationed at the CC to help ppl/elderly explain and fill out the forms. Now, ive gotten my own share~ the few perks of being 21 in s'pore i guess.
hmm. if there's a next time, i'll definitely donate the money. For now, let me just keep this for commemoration. :)
Beijing's PR fiasco regarding the Tibet riots just amuses me. They havent handled the issue properly as usual and plainly shifted all the blame to Dalai Lama. Hello, if they want to be improve their image, doing last minute stuff (eg. trying to reduce air pollution after they got the olympics bid) is not enough. Step up, face the issue head-on and stop pointing fingers (they've been doing that since the Made In China problem). it's no wonder the Games has been politicized. i mean, if they din provoke Tibetans in the first place (at such a critical time no less!), none of this would have happened. they still have a long way to go in perfecting their PR skills...
ps. i know i havent been updating. but exams are literally round the corner and i still haven cleared my deadlines. xin you yu er li bu zu. sigh.
and JAS, i haven forgot to blog about THAT. i'll do it the moment i can squeeze time out. =D
