A short synopsis: This Olivier Award-winning play is black humour at its best. When Katurian (a horror writer) gets questioned and interrogated by the police, a tense cat-and-mouse game reveals the truth behind the investigation.ok, admittedly the storyline is pretty warped as u can judge from the poster. but how the story unfolds is disturbing yet touching at the same time. yes its touching bcos of the brotherly love! -sobs sobs- its also a comedy by the way. so its disturbingly touchingly funny.
Katurian's stories mostly involved the brutal killing of kids bcos of his experimented childhood. hence when kids started getting killed the same way as his stories, naturally he was arrested. And it turned out that the seemingly innocent is not innocent and even when the truth is revealed, Katurian himself has his own skeletons in the closet (or wishing well in this context) and still had to be punished.
whats special abt this play (besides the storyline) is that they made use of visual media. shall not say much but it added to the impact of the play. good props and stage design too. =)) tho the numerous cigarettes smoked by the characters are definitely not props...... increase ventilation please!
