ydae was channel surfing and by a stroke of luck, hallmark was showing this documentary movie abt the 17th world cup in brazil (i dunno wat year is tt..but the film looked qt old) and the focus of the film was england and its useless manager (now where have we heard this b4), mike basset. he was booed everywhere and made lotsa wrong choices in choosing his players ( deja vu again). the players were losing every match and the climax was the match against argentina. but i changed channel so i din catch the ending...i think eng won?? cos the credits were qt cheery. but anw, pele and ronaldo did a cameo.(if there's ronaldo shd be not long ago?)
a reporter was asking pele: so who do u think has a chance in winning the wc?
and pele went on with italy, germany, argentina, france, spain...the usual suspects.
the reporter pressed on: who else?
pele said some african countries were not bad..
undaunted, the reporter asked again. (yes he's getting irritating)
pele replied with korea and japan.
this time the reporter got straight to his point.
reporter: japan?? wat abt england?
pele: u mean they qualified??
reporter: yes they qualified.
pele: hahahaha.
noone takes england seriously bcos seriously, they suck for dunno wat reason. and it has been decades with no improvement whatsoever. but we singaporeans still support england for reasons which cannot be rationalised and explained with science.
and one fun fact: while waiting for the england match to start..i realised my mom likes beckham too ! she was so excited tt beckham was goin to be playing and she even said tt she was goin to scream louder den anyone for him. -.- erms. guess its in the genes? haha.
well of cos she din do tt but she did let out a squeal when portugal almost scored.
im still qt desperate to get some shopping done. pls go shopping with me. someone.
